Amvikāvana(Amvikavana) is a forest on the bank of the river Sarasvatī (Saraswati). God Śiva (Siva)and Goddess Amvikā(Amvika) are worshiped here. A snake called Uraga, cursed by a Brahmaṇa (Brahmana), got rid of his curse here, in this forest, by the touch of the feet of Kṛṣṇa (Krishna) , and got his handsome form back.
Before his marriage, Rukmiṇī, the princess of Vidrbha, went to Amvikāvana, and worshiped God.
